I was appalled when I learned what we are getting with our current Assessor.
WE DESERVE BETTER
Our property taxes are TOO high. This must change and I will do my part to make that change.
The direct effect I can have:
1. Provide an accurate, fair, and equitable value on your property, and
2. Apply exemptions that you qualify for.
1. Verify the owners of property
2. Value the property
3. Apply exemptions
4. Add this information to the Assessment "Tax" Roll
The Assessor does NOT:
1. Set the tax rate
2. Compute taxes
3. Collect taxes
I will speak to anyone who has a concern about their property valuation and walk them through it. We will make changes where needed.
I will work with the fine people that are employees of the Assessor’s office, utilize their skills, and learn from them.
I will split my time 50/50 between Globe and Payson.
I will work towards making all services available in the Payson office as is in the Globe office and vice-versa.
I will work towards implementing a “secret shopper” program to insure the office is always providing top-notch service.
I will ensure that all staff are trained for their position and that all in that position have the same knowledge.
I will work towards cross-training all staff members so there is never a day that the office must close due to lack of staff.
I will work towards improving the information provided on our website and make obtaining that information user friendly.
I will be a member of the Arizona Association of Assessors to keep abreast of all things dealing with property taxes.
I will Learn from other county assessors, what works great for them to implement better practices; and what didn’t work great as to not repeat in Gila County.
I will work to help make our property tax situation better by keeping informed with what is currently being considered in Legislation and what I might bring to light with our Legislators to take to Legislation.
Inform citizens of the exemptions that are available to them and ensure that, if you qualify for an exemption, it is fully implemented for you.
